PRIVACY POLICY

Effective may 25, 2026

AVet2Vets Consulting LLC ("AVet2Vets," "we," "us," or "our") is a veteran-owned consultancy operating from the State of Florida. We respect your privacy and take seriously the sensitivity of the information veterans, surviving spouses, and dependents share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

  • Contact information — name, email, mobile phone number, mailing address.

  • Service history and claim information — branch, dates of service, discharge status, claimed conditions, prior VA decisions, and supporting medical or military records you choose to share.

  • Communications — messages, voicemails, emails, text messages, and notes from calls or meetings.

  • Scheduling details — preferred call times and related calendar information.

We also collect limited information automatically when you use the site:

  • Device and usage data — IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps, gathered through standard server logs and privacy-respecting analytics.

  • Cookies — small files used to keep the site working and to understand aggregate usage. You can disable cookies in your browser; some features may not function without them.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To respond to your intake, schedule and conduct calls, and deliver the services you request.

  • To prepare guidance, document drafts, and educational materials specific to your situation.

  • To send appointment reminders, case-status updates, and other transactional messages by email or text (if opted in).

  • To maintain records, handle billing, and comply with legal obligations.

  • To protect the security and integrity of the site and our services.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your information for third-party advertising.

3. Text Messaging (SMS/MMS)

If you opt in to text messages — by checking the SMS consent box on the intake form, replying START to a message from us, or otherwise giving express written consent — we collect your mobile phone number and the content of messages you exchange with us. We use this information solely to:

  • Confirm, reschedule, and remind you of appointments.

  • Follow up on intake submissions and request missing documents.

  • Provide case-status updates related to services you've requested.

Mobile information and SMS opt-in consent will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information may be shared only with subprocessors strictly necessary to deliver the messaging service (for example, our SMS provider), and only as required to send the messages you've consented to receive.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out at any time. See our Terms of Service for the full SMS terms.

4. How We Share Information

We share personal information only in these limited situations:

  • With your direction — for example, when you ask us to send records to a VA representative, medical provider, or accredited attorney.

  • Service providers — vetted vendors who help us run the practice (email, scheduling, SMS delivery, secure file storage, payment processing). They may access information only as needed to perform their work and are contractually required to protect it.

  • Legal and safety — when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of any person.

  • Business transfer — in the unlikely event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you.

5. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we hold — including encrypted transmission, access controls, and limited retention. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we ever learn of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by Florida law (Fla. Stat. § 501.171) and any other applicable law.

6. Data Retention

We retain client records for as long as needed to provide the services and for a reasonable period afterward to support follow-up appeals, respond to questions, and meet legal, accounting, and tax obligations. You may request deletion of your records at any time (see Section 8).

7. Children's Privacy

The Services are intended for adults age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your Choices and Rights

The site, written guides, templates, and other materials we produce are owned by AVet2Vets and provided to you for your personal, non-commercial use in connection with your own claim. Do not reproduce, resell, or redistribute them without written permission.

  • Access, correct, or delete — email us to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct inaccuracies, or ask us to delete it (subject to legal retention requirements).

  • Opt out of SMS — reply STOP to any text from us at any time.

  • Opt out of email — use the unsubscribe link or ask us in reply.

  • Florida residents — Florida law gives you rights with respect to your personal information, including the right to know what we collect and to request deletion. Submit requests to the contact email below; we will respond within the time required by law.

  • Do Not Track — our site does not currently respond to browser Do-Not-Track signals.

9. Third-Party Links

Our site may link to government sites (such as VA.gov) or other third-party resources. We are not responsible for their privacy practices; review their policies separately.

10. International Visitors

The Services are operated from the United States and intended for U.S. users. If you access the site from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be processed in the U.S.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be posted on this page.
